General

General has a vet appointment in the morning. He has been having a rough time lately. Last week when I was at the barn on Thursday, he was timid and scared to move around a whole lot. After I checked his eyes, I noticed a major difference in color and called the vet the next day. General has had problems in his eyes for probably about 4 years now. I started to notice a change when he would drift into the wall going one direction and not the other. After checking his eyes, we found he has a condition called recurrent equine uvetis (that might not be spelled correctly) in one eye, and glacoma in the other. Usually, he is jumpy and needs you to talk to him while you are near him so he knows where you are. Last week I noticed a major change. He wouldn't come to me when I called him. He stayed in the "safe" places of the center of his stall and arena. Tonight he was too scared to come out of his stall. He bumped his nose pretty hard at one point and now has a boo-boo.

I'm just praying that tomorrow's vet appointment goes well. I'm worried about the new yellow and white colors that are showing up in his eyes now and I'm extremely worried about his behavior. He is not himself at all. If I can't get him out of the stall, then what? Is it fair for me to have a "stall-ridden" horse? I don't even know what my options are. :-(
