Three Wishes

Today I gave my students the journal prompt: "If you found a magic genie, what three wishes would you ask for and why?"

Luckily, my students didn't ask me what my answer would have been today, because there isn't much I would be able to think of. Of course I would have to ask for a never ending bank account or something like that to get us out of debt, and maybe buy a new car, but what else could I really wish for? Material things...nothing life changing. It's nice that for the first time in my life I have noting major to wish for. I have an amazing relationship that is more than I could ever hope for. I have a house and "kids"...even if they are fuzzy and stinky (haha). I have a job that is secure. I have a loving family and great friends. What more could I wish for?
