Am I out of line?

I am taking a vote. Feel free to leave comments about any or all questions/answers.

1. When you are in a relationship, do you spend less time with your family than their family (we are talking a major difference here)?

2. When you are in a relationship, do you consider that person more of your family than your parents and siblings (like, this significant other is MY family, you people mean nothing to me)?

3. Would your answers be different if you were engaged, dating, or married?

4. If your significant other had a child, would you tell your family that they may not hold that child?

5. If your significant other had a child, would you tell your family that they will never be considered the grandparents/aunts/uncles/etc?

6. If your significant other and family had some kind of tension, would you help them talk and work through it, or refuse to let there be a meeting to clear the air?

7. If you were given the choice between celebrating your mom's birthday with your family, and choosing new curtains, what would you choose?

8. Would you turn your back on your family that has been there for you through some major things in life and make your family members cry on their birthday?

Maybe I am out of line...help me out here...

I can def put a few pieces together here. And, really wow- not much to say. As a married couple, Sean and I do our best to see all three families and make sure all feel included. We just can't ignore people even though in a relationship no matter WHAT; Sean is my family and takes precedence but we still make time for everyone else. As for the holding a child...strangers tend to ask to hold babies.

As for the "titled names"; I feel that one is a bit touchy because I personally have my own thoughts that people who are only aunts and uncles should be called "aunt" or "uncle"...(minus my cousin Stevie; who is really my sister)....but that doesn't mean that my sister's friend Jill; her son calls me Aunt Lynsey....and Mike & Mary have Natalie and William call me Aunt Lynsey. So, I guess that one is a bit up to the parents of the child. Thats my thought.
